Dr. Denise Robledo, is the Director of Distance Learning and Academic Innovations for Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. Most recently, Dr. Robledo worked for Austin Community College District as Manager of Instructional Design and later as Executive Director of the Digital Higher Education Consortium of Texas (DigiTex) serving all Texas community colleges in expanding infrastructure for online learning. Prior to her appointment at Austin Community College District, Dr. Robledo oversaw distance learning and instructional technology operations for Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee and South Arkansas College in El Dorado, Arkansas. Working as a distance learning professional for over 10 years she has managed all operational areas and support mechanisms for the delivery of online learning. This has involved the evaluation and acquisition of instructional technology platforms, continuous improvement of online learning policies, and support mechanisms for the purposes of cultivating innovative online programs and talented faculty. Dr. Robledo has a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Media Studies, a Master’s degree in Educational Technology, and PhD in Rangeland Ecology and Management from Texas A&M University.

Alexandra Janney, PhD

Dr. Alexandra Janney is the Assistant Director of Digital Learning at the Digital Learning and Academic Innovation at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She holds degrees in MS, Instructional Design and Technology (University of Houston, Clear Lake, 2010) and PhD in Curriculum and Instruction (Texas A& M University-Corpus Christi, 2023). Her research interests are motivation and student engagement in online courses. Dr. Janney is a certified Quality Matters Coordinator, Peer Reviewer, Online Course Facilitator, and Master Reviewer. In addition, she is a certified Blackboard Exemplary Course Program reviewer. As a digital learning professional and an online instructor for over 20 years, Alexandra has worked on quality assurance and compliance of online courses, improving online course design and increasing student engagement, professional development for faculty and students, compliance, and incorporating data and research into the university's strategic initiatives. Alexandra is involved in assessing the adoption of the new technology and using data collection to make informed decisions.
