Honorlock Voice Detection

Online proctoring that detects
voices a better way

Online Proctoring with
Smart Voice Detection

Honorlock’s Voice Detection technology listens for specific keywords or phrases, such as “Hey Siri” or “OK Google,” and records students’ audio during exams.

If it detects possible academic dishonesty, a live remote proctor is alerted and can intervene to address the situation with the student.

How is voice detection being accomplished?

The online proctoring software records and transcribes audio while the exam is in progress. The transcript provides context about what is said during the proctored exam.

Common keywords flagged for academic dishonesty:

  • “Hey Siri”
  • “Alexa…”
  • “OK Google”

What is being detected?

Honorlock’s online proctoring software analyzes the transcript for keywords. We provide an extensive list of keywords that students may use to cheat during proctored online exams. This list can be added to and modified by the university.

students can read aloud

Honorlock’s smart voice detection helps reduce false flags for instructors to review and still allows students to read aloud without being flagged.
